Our wine tonight is the Catawba White from Waldensian Heritage Winery. A light pink wine with a soft fruity nose and crisp complex flavor notes of exotic fruits. 
The Waldensian people have long produced wines and their traditional wine making techniques have passed through centuries of generations. The Waldensian movement originated in the twelfth century and the Waldensian people have been long persecuted in Europe as their teachings were in conflict with the traditional Catholic Church. The North Carolina settlement in Valdese arrived in the late 18th century. Waldensian Heritage Winery is “legally” the third oldest winery in North Carolina. However, these traditional wines have been produced in Valdese for generations.

Our wine tonight is the Seyval Blanc from Goodwater Vineyards. Semi-dry, light, and crisp with soft finish of clove. 
We visited the tasting room at the vineyard in Mosheim, Tennessee, and they also gave two other tasting rooms, Pigeon River Winery in Hartford and Knotty Creek in Newport. 
We also visited The Island in Pigeon Forge where we tasted wine at Bootleggers Winery and moonshine at Ole Smokey Moonshine. When at Ole Smokey always ask for Tish, trust us on that. She’s too cool!
Our wine tonight is the Peach Orchard peach fruit wine from Rock of Ages Winery in Hurdle Mills, North Carolina, just above Raleigh. 
This is one of our most favorite peach wines. Real peachy on the nose, and as the back label boldly affirms, “real fruit is the key.”

Our wine tonight is the Sweet Dog Red from Belle Nicho Winery. This sweet red blend of 80% Cabernet Franc and 20% Chambourchin has nice legs and offers rich berry flavors. Served slightly chilled. <br>

Our wine tonight is Catawba White, a sweet traditional white wine blend, from Waldensian Heritage Wines in Valdese, North Carolina. The owners/winemaker’s are Waldenses, direct descendants of the Waldensians of 12th century Italy. Interestingly, Valdese, North Carolina is home to the largest Waldensian colony outside of Italy. Since 1967, an outdoor drama is performed each summer downtown Valdese in honor of their North Carolina heritage. Waldensians have been long renown for their winemaking.
