Harvested fruit cold soaked for 12 hours and processed with a cool fermentation.

Light salmon in color.
Nose of ripe melon, gooseberry, citrus, and flint.
Dry with tropical fruit notes on the front palate, pink grapefruit, red currant, with floral notes of daffodils and jasmine. Finishing notes of cold brew, almonds, and cocoa.
Our wine tonight is the Kan-Gria from Parker-Binns Vineyard in the Tryon Foothills of North Carolina.

Estate grown red wine with natural spices.
Color of freshly squeezed cranberry juice.
The nose is tropical with hints of pink grapefruit and red plum.
12% ABV
Fruit forward profile bursting of red berries such as huckleberries, mulberries, and wild blackberries with pomegranate and bing cherry. Mid-palate unmask hints of citrus, blood orange, lime, and cilantro. The finish shows soft notes of lavender, vanilla, and strawberry.
Sangria is a Spanish term describing a mix of red wine and fruit! Sangria is really booming at craft wineries as a summer drink of choice. Could Sangria replace rosé as the next big summer wine? We think so!
Parker-Binns jumped ahead of the curve canning their sangria…..uh Kan-Gria!

Blend of estate grown Cabernet Franc and Vidal Blanc.
Light salmon in color.
The nose delicately shows evocations of red currants, citrus, rosé petals, and hibiscus.
Semi-sweet on the tongue. 2.5% residual sugar.
Flavor notes of sweet melon, blood orange, pink grapefruit, strawberry tarts, macintosh apples and light minerality on the finish. Elegantly balanced and refreshing.

Our wine tonight is the limited release Chenin Blanc from Biltmore Estate Winery in Asheville, North Carolina.
Vintage 2019
Limited Release.
Fruit harvested from partner growers in California.
Pale gold in color.
Expressively floral bouquet and pleasantly aromatic of honeysuckle and lilac.
Semi-sweet on the tongue exhibiting crisp acidity. 4.1% RS
Citrusy layered on the palate with notes of lemon-lime, pink grapefruit, key lime, and star fruit, finishing with lingering tart notes of green apple and bosc pear.
12.5% ABV

The 2019 is perhaps more pleasantly balanced than the 2017 and 2018 vintages. This vintage is delightfully refreshing and elegantly balanced.

2019 Chenin Blanc from Biltmore Estate Winery
Biltmore Estate Winery is the most visited winery in The U.SA. A tasting is included in the Biltmore Estate price of admission.
Biltmore Estate currently with 40+ acres under vine grows Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Chardonnay, Merlot, and has recently planted a vineyard of Petit Manseng. Area viticulturalist are seeing Petit Manseng grow very well in the Western North Carolina climate.

Estate grown blend of 90% Cab Franc and 10% Lemburger.
Crest of the Blue Ridge Henderson County AVA.
Produced in the Saignee style.
Light salmon in color.
Off dry and light. Strikingly refreshing.
Nose of stone fruits with subtle tones of red currant, strawberry, basil, and soft minerals, showing a bright acidity with flavor notes of blood orange, ripe apple, red plum, watermelon, and honeydew melons.
Fruit grown in their Upper Pisgah block planted in 2015. So for young fruit this produced a nice rosè.
12.5% ABV.

This particular bottle doesn’t have the vintage listed, though in the past I know we have enjoyed a 2014 vintage of this wine. Perhaps a dual vintage?

Meritage is an American term, not French, originating out of California, which signifies a wineries best blend of Bordeaux noble varietals. A winery must license the right to label a blend “Meritage.”
Aged in French oak.
We aerated for 60 minutes.
Dark burgundy in color showing long sleek legs.
Nose of blackberries, think hot blackberry cobbler just out of the oven, black currants, rum (black) cherries, vanilla, tobacco, and cocoa.
Dry on the palate with expressive notes of bramble berry jam, dark chocolate, blackberries, vanilla, sage, and pipe tobacco, finishing with cedar, spice, and dried herbs.
