Produced from 100% strawberries.
Many of the strawberries are grown on-site and the rest sourced from local South Carolina farms.
Bright salmon in color.
Light nose of strawberry starburst and strawberry twizzlers.
Semi-sweet on the tongue, not overly sweet throughout the tasting.
Flavor notes reminiscent of fresh strawberry shortcake dripping with strawberry syrup, mid-palate lingers with notes of a hot-out-of-the oven strawberry cobbler, finishing similar to a strawberry tart.

This is an excellent representation of a true strawberry fruit wine.

Our wine tonight is the Semi-Dry Peach from Boardwalk Winery in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
Boardwalk Winery is located in the large shopping and entertainment complex Broadway on the Beach.
The winery offers a cornucopia of fruit wines, along with a few dry vinifera wines.
Our peach is semi-dry. A sweeter version was also available.
The nose is soft and pleasant, reminiscent of peaches in syrup. Flavor notes are true, with hints of cinnamon on the tip of the tongue. The sweetness and acidity are nicely balanced.
The label features a beautiful beach scene.
Winemaker Tim Walker is in top of his game with this offering.

Cellared for 12 months.
Decanted for 90 minutes
100% Malbec Grapes sourced from Yakima Valley in Washington.
Aged in a mix of medium and medium plus oak barrels.
Inky purple color with a thin bright purple rim.
Nose of black cherries, blackberries, smoke and mild cedar.
Medium to Full bodied with well balanced tannins, shows bountiful thick legs.
Flavor profile of black cherries, black licorice, pomegranate, red plums, oak, vanilla, and soft herbal and spicey notes fading toward more complex earthy tones and a light hint of brandy.
This wine paired beautifully with our Italian takeout for dinner.
An excellent drinking and palate pleasing Malbec, one you wouldn’t expect was produced and bottled in South Carolina.

In 2019 the Palmetto Wine Competition judges were harsh on vinifera wines so the fact that this Malbec won a Gold medal is a testament to its superior character!
We spoke with with CityScape winemaker Josh Jones and he said they would soon release a 2019 vintage Malbec. Josh said the 2019 was intensely more peppery and spicy than this 2018.

Cranberry in color with a light peach colored rim.
Blend of Catawba, Concord, Noble Muscadine, and Zinfandel.
Shows consistent long cascading legs.
Nose of cranberries, red apples, red plum, cherries, rose petals, white pepper, and boysenberry jam.
Off dry with a light-medium mouth feel. Flavor notes of raspberries , blackberries, cranberries, cherries, raisins, and a finish reminiscent of fig preserves.
A really nice easy drinking wine, we paired with a light Asian meal of chicken, vegetables, and fried rice.

Produced of locally grown South Carolina Chambourchin. 75% Estate grown at Wellborn Winery Vineyard and 25% grown at Calico Vineyards in Travelers Rest, South Carolina.
Chambourcin is a French-American hybrid with deep purple skins.

Ruby in color with a bright purple rim.
Aromatic nose of fresh baked blueberry muffins, elderberries, raspberries, and chocolate covered cherries.
Semi-sweet.
Medium mouth feel, juicy acidity, with a low tannin structure.
Layered notes of tart raspberries, red currants, cinnamon spice, pepper sauce, and a fresh hot cherry tart, slight smokiness on the finish with a lingering tartness of a Christmas fruitcake.
